A bird I saw drenched in cold rain,
Looking for some shelter to soothe it from numbing pain,
Shelter in a tree was an effort insane,
As it was at the mercy of thunderstorm and could get anytime slain.
It saw a shelter in a small old building,
Where a little lady bird was already hiding,
The bird was gentle, lovely and befriending,
It made some room for the drenched bird with a little amending.
The drenched bird was warmed by her kind care,
He instantly fell for her for such love was found rare,
The next moment they both found themselves in a stare,
The Lady bird too was happy with such a beautiful love affair.
For some time they both were in the world of dream,
A small nest beside a beautiful running stream,
With little birdlings playing and they both smiling in a beam,
A happy life ahead and love brimming with a steam.
But, soon the clouds grew darker,
And The wind blew colder,
The lady bird started to shiver,
As her furs were young and tender.
The drenched bird now seemed worried,
Without thinking it started to shed its furs in a hurry,
He felt pain as unfurring was painful,
But if he could warm her love, he would be greatful.
With his furs the lady bird felt a little relief,
The drenched bird with such a sight forgot his pain and grief,
But in doing so he lost his some flying power,
And now he didn’t wanted to be a burden for the bird,
As in pure love one is just a giver.
With the warmth of furs the lady bird fell asleep,
Seeing the sleeping bird, the male one was blissed to the deep,
He fluttered his shortened wings, flyed very low,
His eyes glittered in euphoria and he aimed for the rainbow.
P.S.- This I wrote when I wasn’t in a situation to write anything positive.
